The Vancouver Downtown Eastside #3

This is part of a larger series of portraits of the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, Canada’s poorest neighbourhood. They were taken mainly in the fall of 2006 and are intended to be a portrait of the community itself. Throughout the years, this neighbourhood has suffered from many challenges which include, but are not limited to, drug addiction, poverty, diseases such as HIV and hepatitis, prostitution, governmental and societal indifference, and a terrifyingly prolific serial killer.

Zoe Greaves is the girl in the blue jean coat.

I've been looking for her for since early 2011.

I remember that blue jean coat, too. Tammy is the one with dread locks. I think she died. I lost track of her a couple of years ago. I'm still looking for Zoe Greaves.

I hope you find Zoe Greaves. I'm sorry to hear that Tammy died. I'm hoping to volunteer in the DTES next year when I come to Canada on a sort of working vacation. The issues faced are very close to my heart <3
All the best to you,
