The Salton Sea was once a destination to the stars in its heyday, but now lies abandoned and neglected. Yet in its neglection lies the beauty found in the quiet of its death and decay. Many see this area as an eyesore, unable to see past the deterioration of its ruins, but it is exactly the deterioration along with nature's efforts to reclaim her land that makes this place so heart-breaking in its beauty.

these are just gorgeous, black and white at it's best..
i could never pull this off...no way.
i wonder if people look at our blogs..i'd like to know how many people saw it,very curious.
Thanks, although I have a feeling very few people read our blogs here at this point in time :)
Extremely beautiful and disturbing. It is unfortunate that people would rather bury the head in the sand and pretend we aren't affecting the world.
I read every single post on this blog. Out of all the photos that I have seen from IPA over the past few years, Abandoned is the only set that I couldn’t keep off my mind and have been wanting to revisit again and again. Many photographers’ works are beautiful. Others might be impressive. Yours are memorable.
Thank you, that's amazingly generous of you.
I have just discovered your blog but searching for photos of Vancouver's downtown east side. I am in awe. Beautiful, stunning, remarkable. You have me captivated.
thank you
Ha! So people actually do still come across this blog. I'll need to update it more regularly, I guess :)
Thanks for the comment, Erin.
